A Perfect Trio of Words

When we first talked about what we wanted to call this blog and decided on the name Bold, Strong, & Free, I just thought it was a really cool and inspiring name. As I’ve thought about it more since then and looked up the definitions above, I have realized that they are truly a perfect trio of words to describe how we should want to live our lives. The opposites of these words are timid, weak, and captive. That is honestly how I sometimes feel in my life currently, mainly because I have such big dreams and sometimes get overwhelmed by how many steps it would take to make them reality and would much rather stay in my comfortable bubble than try and risk never succeeding in those goals. To me, living a bold, strong, and free life is my green light to make plans to live out my dreams and take action, accepting that I will make mistakes and fall along the way. It’s taken me a long time to realize this, but I know that I have family and friends who will always be in my corner no matter what.

Bold, strong, and free are words that I want to be able to use to describe my life, no matter what decisions I make in the future.

I want to be bold in my decision making, not letting fear cloud my judgement and keep me from making decisions that I want to make but think are out of reach.

I want to be strong so that whatever decisions I make, I can follow through, both physically and mentally.

I want to be free, letting go of any expectations or pressures of what I am “supposed to do” that may come from others or myself.

One example of living bold, strong, and free is buying a house and moving across the country. It takes boldness to make the big, and potentially scary, decision to move away from the community you have created in your hometown. It takes mental and physical strength to get rid of things you don’t need anymore and pack up your home. And it takes freedom, both financial and social, to buy a new home and leave without feeling like you have to cut ties with everyone from your previous life to start your new life in your new state.

I want this blog to feel like a conversation and to always be a reminder to anyone who reads it that you are not the only one going through whatever you may be going through, as well as an encouragement to keep going and trust that God has a plan for your life that is far better than yours, even if it currently doesn’t feel like it. My hope is that anyone who reads this blog will feel better after reading it. Whether each topic directly applies to your life or you know someone it would benefit more, I hope you keep coming back and being encouraged to live a bold, strong, and free life.

Bonus feature, here’s a song recommendation that I heard it twice in one day and it reminded me of this blog. It is a song that encapsulate living bold, strong, and free. The song is Consumed by Fire’s Walk With Jesus.
