It Started With One Question

“Do you want to start a blog with me? I’ve had this idea for a long time, and it would be so cool to do it together.”

It was one of those late night talks that started as a book club with other people and ended up being three new besties planning our futures and talking about everything under the sun. It was so funny to me how quickly I connected with these two internet strangers who had only been voices until I finally met them in person later.

It took us a while to come up with all the details for the blog. I honestly wondered if it would be real, or just one of those only-on-paper conversations you have late at night after too much hot chocolate. If you haven’t realized by now, we really like our hot chocolate around here!

We came up with a name after I asked a question:

What do we want women to gain from reading the blog? What character traits do we want to build up in women through our words? I wanted women to be BOLD, STRONG, & FREE because that’s what I wanted for my own life and walk with the Lord.

Finally, after Abbi designed our logo, Abbi and Elizabeth built our website, and I helped with social media, Bold, Strong, & Free was born! It was the day I felt like I was doing something really important with my words for the cause of Christ.

I could end by telling you that I hope BSF will be an encouragement to women for years to come, gain in popularity, and hopefully be a way for us to financially contribute to our families someday, but I’d like to end with a prayer for our blog on its first birthday.

Lord,

Thank you so much for this blog where our words have a home, and for the two women I met online who have become like sisters. We will write in faith that the right people will read our words when they need them most, and we will trust you to provide the increase. I speak the name of Jesus over everyone who reads our words. Over every broken heart, hurting family, lonely woman seeking her tribe, every lost soul, every restless mind, I know that you will meet their needs. Thank you, God, for being such a faithful Father, Savior, and friend. Now and forever after, help us to be bold, strong, and free, and do it all for your glory alone. Amen!

Thank you so much for joining us on this journey! We’re so glad you’re here!

Katelyn
