Mid-Year Reflection

I once had someone tell me they do a mid-year check-in on themselves in June. I liked that. It is a perfect time to see how you are doing in the year, if you are making progress on your goals or if you have new goals. No judgment if that’s the case! It’s also perfect timing for myself, since I just had a birthday and something about birthdays always make me reflect.

To recap about goals — I like to break them down into three components: spiritual, physical, and emotional. Have a goal that helps you spiritually, a goal that helps you physically, and a goal that helps you emotionally. Those three areas are linked, it’s like they are in a triangle. If one point collapses, the other two points cannot stand and make a triangle.

A check-in or reflection is not making goals. Instead it is a review.

Friends, you can still break them down into those three components. But here are three journable (is that a word? Journal people?) questions that you can also ask yourself:

  1. What is one (1) thing I have learned so far in 2025?
  2. What thoughts, beliefs, or habits can I let go of today?
  3. If I could wave a magic wand and change your life instantly, what would be the first thing that tells you that something different? Follow-up, what is an actionable step that you can take today?
